The Flower Hmong tote is a limited edition bag made from a combination of woven leather and hand woven tapestry details.
The Tapestry was brought back from a trip to Bac ha in Northern Vietnam. The Flower Hmong hill tribe ladies of Northern Vietnam spend hours hand weaving these beautiful traditional tapestries, making each tapestry one-of-a-kind.
Different patterns and techniques of production are associated with geographical regions and cultural subdivisions within the global Hmong community.
Traditionally, Hmong embroidery is used as a form of decoration on clothing to make it bright and beautiful. Hmong embroidery includes bright colors: pinks, reds, greens, as well as blues.
From a young age, Hmong girls learn how to sew and copy motifs from their mothers and grandmothers. As they grow older, the embroidery skills that the girls acquire through their female elders serve to make them more attractive marriage partners
